Beware of TVC testimonial agreements
Performers are increasingly being required to sign off on “testimonial” release agreements for work on television commercials providing endorsements for products or companies.
Equity is informed that clients require these for consumer law protections and strongly advise members not to sign or agree to these documents unless every aspect of the “testimonial” is accurate so they are not at risk of breaching contracts and implicitly engaging in misleading and deceptive conduct themselves.
