MEAA welcomes positive news on Ten Network

MEAA welcomes the news that the Ten Network will hopefully enjoy some stability under new ownership after months of uncertainty.

We also welcome the positive statement this morning from CBS.

Ten has endured significant sweeping cuts to its newsgathering capability in recent years. We hope a new-found stability at the network will lead to investment in news and editorial staff.

Finally, MEAA notes that removing the two out of three ownership rule was not required to ensure the survival of Ten.
