Statement on Board resignations
MEAA thanks Karen Percy, Erin Delahunty and Kate Ferguson for their service as elected officers on the Board, Federal Council and National Media Section committee.
Karen has spent more than seven years on MEAA’s Board, the past three as Media Federal President. She has been a powerful advocate for press freedom, ethical journalism and diversity in the media industry.
Erin served two terms as Federal Media Vice-President and has always ensured that the voices of freelance and regional journalists are always front and centre in campaigns and policy by our Media section.
Kate was WA Media Branch President and then a Federal Media Vice-President has been at the forefront of MEAA’s whole-of-union campaigning against AI theft and has been a driving force in modernising the state and territory media awards run by MEAA.
“We wish them all the best in future endeavours,” said MEAA Federal President Michael Balk.
“A process is now underway to fill those vacant positions from our membership ranks.”
