MEAA submission on Australian Broadcasting Corporation Amendment (Fair and Balanced) Bill 2017
This Bill is a calculated insult directed at the ABC and its employees. The proposed addition to the ABC Act borders on comical, but is unfortunately rooted in a transgressive campaign to undermine the performance and reputation of the nation’s most esteemed (and scrutinised) broadcaster.
MEAA believes this misleading and dangerous Bill should be withdrawn without further debate.

The Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance – the union for performers and other theatre workers – expects that 2018 will prove to be a watershed year for the treatment of sexual harassment and bullying in live theatre.
MEAA Media submission on cyberbullying
MEAA Media made the attached submission to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs References Committee’s inquiry into the adequacy of existing offences in the Commonwealth Criminal Code and of state and territory criminal laws to capture cyberbullying in December 2017.
