Notice of proposed rule change
Section 159 of the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Regulations 2009 requires a registered industrial organisation (MEAA) to publish a notice on its website that it has lodged a proposed alteration to its rules with the Fair Work Commission.
MEAA, on the authority of the Federal President, Simon Collins, lodged a Statement with the FWC on 30 March 2017. It can be found here.
The proposed alteration to MEAA’s Rules concerns the removal of the term ‘General Branch’ from Rule 80 (and related grammatical changes). Rule 80 sets out the formula for the election of federal, branch and section delegates and voting at federal council. The full marked-up text of the Rules can be found here.
