MEAA extends sympathy over MCEC death
MEAA members working at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre extend their sympathy to the family and workmates of a man who was killed while working on the expansion of the centre on Wednesday afternoon.
The man, a boilermaker in his mid-50s and a member of the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union, died when he fell from a boomlet on the South Wharf site.
Our members at the MCEC appreciate the role of construction workers in a hard and dangerous job improving and extending their place of work.
Any MEAA member at MCEC requiring assistance or experiencing distress following this incident should feel welcome to contact Member Central on 1300 656 513.
