Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408) Entertainment Activities stream - Union consultation application
This form is to apply for union consultation as part of a Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408) application to work in the entertainment industry on live productions, film, television and other productions as a performer, production, or support staff.
Please note that the Department of Home Affairs states that you must consult with the union before the applicant submits their visa application.
MEAA consultation times are 5 working days for general applications and 14 working days for applications involving foreign actors working on film and television productions.
Your application might take longer to process if you provide incorrect information, you don’t include all the documents we need, we need more information from you, or it takes us time to verify your information.

Live & Stage Productions
This information is for anyone appearing on-stage or off-stage as part of live or stage productions such as concerts, club nights, theatre productions, festivals, dance productions, operas, cabarets, cultural or variety shows, and any other live performances.

Recorded & Broadcast Productions
This information is for anyone appearing on-screen or off-screen as part of recorded or broadcast productions such as feature films, television series, documentaries, sports broadcasts, TV commercials, digital or online broadcasts, and all other media.

Applications are subject to an administrative fee.
Live & Stage Productions:
On-stage: Singers, DJs, Comedians, Dancers, Actors etc – $165 per applicant
Off-stage: Production and Technical Crew, Producers, and Support staff – $110 per applicant
Recorded & Broadcast Productions:
On-screen: Performers, Presenters, Talent, Stunts etc – $550 per applicant
Off-screen: Production and Technical Crew, Producers, and Support staff – $302.50 per applicant
