Arts and entertainment workers have been left out in the cold by National Cabinet. Again.

National Cabinet modelling tells us to expect on and off lockdowns and reduced capacity at venues for many months, if not years, to come.

For arts and entertainment workers this means the pandemic is far from over for us. We will still be unable to keep our venues open 365 days of the year and therefore still be unable to earn money consistently and reliably.

We need a national plan for a safe and reliable reopening. That must include:

•  Income support for workers and venue capacity subsidies to help deal with the effects of audience restrictions even after lockdowns end.
•  Event cancellation subsidies and COVID insurance for live events.
•  All Australian governments to do the right thing and sign on to our $250 minimum fee for musicians.

We are now taking action so that National Cabinet will listen to entertainment workers and support us getting back to work.
