Meet Doctors for Assange

Support Assange & WikiLeaks Coalition will be hosting an opportunity for the media to hear first hand the concerns Doctors for Assange have for Julian Assange’s health and well being.

This event will be MCed by Wendy Bacon, former Professor of Journalism and Director of Australian Centre for Independent Journalism at University of Technology Sydney; now a researcher, journalist and activist around media freedom and environmental issues.

Speakers:

Dr Jill Stein M.D., Internist, Lexington, Massachusetts (US)

Jill Stein is a Harvard Medical School and graduate, physician and activist for people’s health and the quality of their local environment. Jill also served as an instructor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and was the Green Party’s nominee for President of the United States in the 2012 and 2016.

Dr Arthur Chesterfield-Evans M.B., B.S., F.R.C.S.(Eng.), M.Appl.Sci.(OHS), M.Pol.Econ., Former CEO of the Sydney Peace Foundation (Aus)

Arthur Chesterfield-Evans is an Australian medical practitioner, politician and peace activist who served as a member of the Legislative Council of New South Wales from 1998 to 2007.

Dr Sue Wareham OAM MBBS General Medical Practitioner (retired) (Aus)

Sue is an active member of the Medical Association for Prevention Of War (Aus) and believes that her work with MAPW is fundamental to her commitment to the protection of human life and the improvement of human well-being
