Media law is constantly changing.

MEAA, in conjunction with RMIT University, will be hosting a one-day Media Law Training Course for FreelancePro and MEAA Media members at the RMIT city campus. For FreelancePro members who haven’t completed media law training in the last five years, you are strongly encouraged to complete this course. N.B. places for this course are strictly limited.

Trainer: Grant McAvaney – chief executive officer of the Australian Copyright Council, and a specialist media and intellectual property lawyer. Formerly a partner with law firm Minter Ellison and head of litigation at the ABC. Grant has a broad range of litigation and corporate legal experience.

Cost
The strength of our numbers allows us to offer this course to our FreelancePro and MEAA members at a dramatically reduced cost of $250 ($500 for non-members). Depending on your individual circumstances, in most cases this amount would be tax deductible – consult your tax adviser.
