The nomination period for the Human Rights Awards has been extended to Sunday 19 August.
The Awards includes a Media Category, which recognises the crucial role the media plays in raising important social issues and in shining a light on uncomfortable topics that some would prefer remain hidden. Past media finalists and winners have raised a range of important topics in contemporary Australia including free speech, justice for Aboriginal people, mental health, child sexual abuse, immigration detention and domestic violence, to name a few.
To be eligible for nomination, applicants must be an Australian Citizen or have Australian permanent residency as at the date of nomination.
If you wish to apply for more than one award category, an individual application form for each award category must be submitted.
Entrants must have made a significant contribution to the promotion and protection of human rights IN AUSTRALIA and been active in this area between August 2017 and August 2018.
